Dean and Pollard’s Demand Control Schema (DC-S) is one of a growing number of tools available to assist interpreters with ethical decision making in their professional practice. The model can be applied when planning for an interpreting booking, managing the many challenges that can arise during a booking, as well as when reflecting on an interpreting booking – for example, with a colleague or a mentor.
In 2018, deafConnectEd will be working with ASLIA Victoria on several initiatives, the first of which is a workshop on the DC-S.
The workshop will be held over two mornings on Saturday 12 May and Saturday 26 May at the Prahran campus of Melbourne Polytechnic.
As we are sponsoring this workshop, we invite all interpreters who work with our Central Auslan Booking Service (CABS) to register for this course – at no cost!

If you are registered and working with CABS, please register for this workshop via ASLIA Victoria’s Try Booking link, and use the following code: 1FREECABS
You must register before close of business Thursday 29 March. After this date, any remaining places will be made available to other ASLIA members.
This course will have a maximum of 20 participants so don’t delay, register now!
