I
nterpreting in educational settings is incredibly rewarding but also challenging and that’s why we are offering 4 recently qualified interpreters the chance to get some individualised professional development and the support of an experience mentor.
The Central Auslan Booking Service (CABS) mentor and coaching program will be tailored to meet the needs of participants and will include:
- an initial interpreting performance analysis by Julie Judd, an experienced interpreter and interpreter trainer.
- Individual feedback as well as a suggested personal development plan for the year
- partnering with a trained mentor for regular discussion and potential tandem interpreting
- three half-day workshops focused on priority skill development areas
- maintenance of an individual learning journal
- a follow up interpreting performance analysis with individual feedback
